The game board is your battlefield. You have an army of men at your disposal and six bombs. Your mission: protect your flag and capture your opponent's flag.
Secretly place your men, bombs and flag on the game board with these objectives in mind. But don't forget that your opponent is doing the same thing, so you need to plan a defense as well as an attack.
Once the armies are in place, move your men forward. When you are one square away from the enemy, attack. You and your opponent declare your ranks. The lower-ranking man is captured and taken out of the game.
You control your coins and risk your men in battles where your enemy's strength is unknown. The suspense increases as your men descend into enemy territory. Move with caution and courage. The next room you're attacking could be a bomb. And when attacked, it could "blow up" your man and put him out of the game.
The first to capture an enemy flag is the winner!
This game is similar to the game L'Attaque (1909) by H.P. Gibsons (UK) and is almost certainly derived directly from it. It is not exactly the same, but it is not far (numbered parts, the spy (of the same name) can kill the strongest piece but only by attacking, flag, bombs, etc.). This game is almost certainly inspired by the classic Chinese children's game Jungle.
