Description
R2-D2, pronounced Artoo-Detoo and often called R2 (Artoo), was an Astromech droid of the R2 series manufactured by Industrial Automaton with a men's programming. An intelligent and courageous droid serving a multitude of masters during his life, R2 has never had a complete erasure of memory (with the exception of a partial erasure of the mind by Cad Bane during the build-up of the hostage crisis in the Senate), nor has he received any new programming, with these factors resulting in an adventurous and independent attitude. Often, finding himself in pivotal moments in galactic history, his bravery and ingenuity have saved the galaxy time and time again.
