With the help of Thor and Rocket, Eitri opened the cage around the star and reignited the forge, melting ingots of Uru and pouring them into a mold. He then broke the mold, revealing the blade and weight of the axes, but misplaced the weapon's handle. Seeing that Thor was near death after bearing the weight of the neutron star's power, Groot decided they couldn't wait for Eitri to find or create a metal handle; he grabbed the red-hot pieces of metal with one of his arms and then severed the arm to serve as a handle, truly finishing Stormbreaker. The weapon then revived Thor's smoking husk, and he used his Bifrost power to travel to Wakanda and aid the Avengers.
