Description
The 1966 Batmobile from the live television show began its life as a Ford concept car called the Lincoln Futura. The Futura's body was crafted by Ghia of Italy, whose artisans hammered the car's panels over carved logs and tree stumps to create the sleek, manta ray-like vehicle. The Batmobile's extra-large, bat-like trunk contains various crime-fighting equipment and has enough room to comfortably seat eight people. The windshield is bulletproof. And of course, the Batmobile isn't without its useful gadgets, including the nose-mounted chain slicer, lasers, flares, a dashboard phone, radar, a dashboard monitor, an onboard computer, and a police beacon, among others.
