In codenames, two teams compete to see who can guess all their words correctly first - but those words are hidden in plain sight in a 5x5 or grid that includes the other team's words, neutral words and a game card that will make you lose the game immediately if you guess it. One person on each team is a spymaster and only these two people know what words belong to each team. Spymasters take turns giving clues to a word that can point to several words in the board. Their teammates try to guess the right color words while avoiding those that belong to the opposing team - and everyone wants to avoid the card game. This version also comes with 4x4 grid cards without overprinting the game to make it more accessible to families and children.
