Description
- Multilingual Game
- Number of Players: 2 - 8
- Duration: 60 - 180 min
- Suggested Age: 8+
Players take on the role of landowners and attempt to buy and develop their land. They earn income when other players visit their properties and spend money when they visit other players' properties. When times are tough, players may be forced to mortgage their properties to obtain money to pay fines, taxes, and other misfortunes.
Game
On their turn, a player rolls two dice and moves that many spaces as there are players on the board. If they land on a property they don't already own, they have the option to buy it or sell it at auction to the highest bidder. If a player owns all the spaces of a color group, they can build houses and hotels on those spaces, generating even more income from opponents who land there. If a player lands on a property belonging to another player, they must pay that player rent equal to the value of the land and any buildings on it. There are other locations on the board that cannot be purchased, but require the player to draw a card and perform the action indicated on the card: pay taxes, collect income, or even go to jail.
Objective
The aim of the game is to be the last player with money. (although some editions end the game when the first player goes bankrupt).
