Description
Polygone Virgule is native to North East America. This butterfly varies according to the seasons. The tops of the hind wings of the summer form are all black, while the hind wings of the winter shapes are reddish orange. The underside of both shapes is striped dark brown and light brown. There is a silver comma in the middle of the posterior wing in both forms. Its wingspan is 4.5 to 6.4 cm (1.8 to 2.5 inches).
