With the help of Thor and Rocket, Eitri opened the cage around the star and rekindled the forge, melting Uru ingots and pouring it into a mold. He then broke the mold, revealing the blade and the weight of the axes, but misplaced the handle of the weapon. Seeing that Thor was close to death after taking the weight of the neutron star's power, Groot decided that they could not wait for Eitri to find or create a metal handle; he grabbed the red-heated pieces of metal with one of his arms and then cut off his arm to serve as a handle, really finishing Stormbreaker. The weapon then revived Thor's smoldering envelope, which used his Power of Bifrost to go to Wakanda and help the Avengers.
