In Villainous, each player takes control of one of six Disney characters, each a villain from a different Disney film. Each player has their own deck of villains, their own deck of spells, their own game board, and their own 3D character.
During a turn, the active player moves their character to a different space on their game board, performs one or more actions visible on that space (often by playing cards from their hand), and then refills their hand with four cards. Cards represent allies, items, effects, conditions, and (for some characters) curses. You must use your cards to fulfill your unique victory condition.
One of the actions allows you to choose another player, draw two cards from that player's fate deck, and then play one of those cards onto that player's board, covering two of the four action spaces on one of that player's spaces. The fate card deck contains heroes, items, and effects from the villain's movie, and these cards allow other players to target that particular villain.
