Woodlands transports you into the wonderful world of legends and fairy tales, with four different stories of increasing difficulty. Each story consists of several chapters, each of which is covered with a layer of plastic that presents various collectibles, obstacles and the purpose of the chapter in question. Each player then builds his own network of paths on his personal game board to beat the chapter and score as many points as possible. Once players are satisfied with what they have built, the overlay is placed on each player's courses to check which goals they have achieved.
Two additional overlays can be used to increase the difficulty of any chapter - and to further increase the difficulty, players can use the back of their path tiles for a greater challenge.
