In 532, Buddhism arrived in Japan and gradually took its place alongside Shintoism. Prince Shotoku, seduced by this new religion, instructs some Buddhist monks to erect 8 pagodas (Tajuto) to create a place of pilgrimage. He announced that once the 4th tajuto was completed, this place would become an important pilgrimage destination. The Buddhist monk who has attained the highest level of spirituality through deep meditation will then be rewarded.
In Tajuto, players play as these Buddhist monks. By activating their action tiles, they will be able to build the floors of the Tajuto, make offerings or improve their abilities.
For this, they dedicate meditation points that they will have accumulated through their constructions. This will allow them to acquire wisdom, predict the end of construction, and accomplishments (goals) that will be sources of spirituality. At the end of the game, the monk who has acquired the most points of spirituality will be declared the winner!
