The Red-spotted Admiral is native to North America with subspecies in Central America. The top is mainly blackish blue with a row of red spots on the anterior wing. The hind wings are either a bright iridescent blue or an iridescent bluish green. Males and females are exactly alike, but one difference is that females are larger than males.
