Friday is based on the story of Robinson Crusoe and his loyal partner Friday (Freitag). You play as Friday, and when Robinson Crusoe crashes onto your island, your peaceful life is disturbed. You must help Robinson survive on the island and prepare him to defeat the pirates arriving on the island.
Friday is a solitaire deck-building game in which you optimize your combat card deck to overcome the dangers of the island. During a turn, the player attempts to defeat danger cards by playing combat cards from their draw pile. If defeated, a danger card becomes a combat card and is added to the player's draw pile. If unsuccessful, the player loses life points, but also has the option to remove unwanted cards from their combat card draw pile.
In the end, the player will use their optimized combat card deck to defeat the two pirate ships arriving on the island, allowing Robinson Crusoe to escape the island and finally allowing you to regain your peace and quiet!
