Description
The largest ship afloat left Southampton, England, on April 10, 1912, on its maiden voyage to New York City. Five days later, at 2:20 a.m. on April 15, it sank after hitting an iceberg 400 miles off the coast of Nova Scotia. Of the 2,223 people on board, only 710 survived.
