This expansion introduces the magnificent coral reef habitats to your Ocean board, as well as more sharks with new and formidable abilities!
• New material: 5 overlay boards featuring coral reefs, 5 new starting Fish cards, 75 new Fish cards, 3 new Achievement tiles, 90 Coral tokens, 1 new Achievement board.
• New mechanic, coral reefs: With the addition of reefs, divers can pay various costs depending on their dive location to preserve the dysphotic zone by placing Coral tokens. These will allow them to place more lucrative fish in terms of victory points. With their dual ability, one of which activates in the presence of a certain number of Coral tokens in the location, these fish can trigger more combos. At the end of the game, Coral tokens are worth 1 VP and bonuses depending on the number of complete reefs and their location. A simple addition to integrate but one that completely transforms the way Finspan is played!
• New mechanic, sharks: Among the 75 new Fish cards are predators and super predators that will have the ability to disperse schools of fish by scattering them into more juveniles. This will allow you to more easily complete new schools of fish nearby. Used well, sharks will allow you to create more schools or collect more juveniles to pay for powerful but expensive cards.
