In Dino Dynasty, players embody Cretaceous dinosaur species and compete in various aspects of survival. Through a variable game setup, the most important survival traits differ from game to game, with each game offering a scenario with specific starting conditions and a set of random challenges. The player who overcomes the most challenges wins!

The map, called a territory, is created by players placing territory tiles. These tiles form biomes that can span multiple squares and are inspired by those that existed in the Cretaceous period, a time when the planet was very different from today. The map is largely unknown at the start of the game and is gradually revealed as players settle and explore it. Additional map configurations, called scenarios, offer even more gameplay possibilities!

You can choose to play as a team or even play multiple games in a campaign. In addition, a "legendary" mode allows players to change species within the same dynasty and save their development over multiple games. This allows for dinosaur variants adapted to handle more difficult scenarios, thereby increasing the difficulty level and long-term strategy.

It is also possible to use it to obtain a specific dinosaur, or a combination of dinosaurs, to effectively counter opponents! In Dino Dynasty, players can explore the imagination of what could have been, while using facts and the latest scientific discoveries about dinosaurs to create and evolve their species. What would have happened if a dinosaur had evolved differently? These possible changes remain plausible and are based on the actual physical characteristics of dinosaurs; learning is therefore as vast as the dinosaurs themselves.
