Built on a high rock over 200 feet above sea level, Manarola is one of the most charming and romantic villages of the Cinque Terre in northern Italy. The small harbor features a boat ramp, picturesque multi-colored houses facing the sea, and a small piazza with seafood restaurants. The village is all ups and downs, with steep, narrow alleyways, or carrugi, that lead down to the sea, so from a distance the houses all appear to be connected.
