A cooperative game of terrifying cave escape for 1 to 6 players. Players take on the role of amateur cavers trying to escape an unexplored network of underground tunnels, before the lights go out or the darker things beneath the Earth catch up to them...
In Sub Terra, players take turns exploring and revealing the surrounding tunnel system, trying to survive the various dangers of the cave, from floods and collapses to gas leaks and rockfalls. Players each have a role that gives them specialized abilities, such as an engineer with dynamite to blast a new route or a scout to find a route more easily.
New tiles are placed from a random pile of cave features, determining whether you will face a dead end or a series of new options.
At the end of each turn, players are confronted with the reality of their situation, with a hazard card drawn to determine which danger causes them harm or cuts off their route out of the horror below.
These cards are limited, and as they run out, your torches flicker, the air is tense, and your chances of survival rapidly decrease.
