During my previous trip to Japan, I was so exhausted after sightseeing, chilled by the winter cold, that I took refuge at Morita Ramen. The place was simple but warm. I was brought a steaming bowl of ramen, the broth was thick and rich, and I drank a cup of shochu. No shivers or fatigue remained.
The ramen was served to me by the owner himself, and I felt right at home. Back home, I kept the restaurant and the ramen bowl in paper blocks, as a souvenir of that evening. Every time I see them, it warms my heart. Who wouldn't love such memories? Isn't it precious to keep these comforting little treasures from your travels?
