Can you tell the difference between an alpaca and a llama? While these South American camelids are close cousins, alpacas are smaller, with shorter, pointier ears and a daintier snout. Though smaller, alpacas surpass llamas and sheep in the fleece department, with longer and finer hair for exceptionally soft products.
And since it contains virtually no lanolin, alpaca wool is less itchy, doesn't require harsh chemicals when processed, and is considered hypoallergenic. Soft and cute!
