The Schleich® WILD LIFE emperor penguin is the largest and heaviest species of penguin. It is also unique because it lives so far south, in Antarctica. Emperor penguins don't build nests, but rather brood directly on the ice. After laying an egg, the female returns to the sea to hunt for fish, leaving the male to look after the egg. He places it on his feet and incubates it under his abdominal fold.
