The Wingspan universe has just greatly expanded with the addition of Finspan! Elizabeth Hargrave helped designers David Gordon and Michael O’Connell transform this game into something familiar yet different from Wingspan, diving deep into the theme of fish.
A more fluid game mechanic will make the game more accessible and allow an informed audience to be introduced to the full range of games developed by Elizabeth Hargrave at Stonemaier Games.
With a new approach to tableau building and habitat exploration mechanisms — the board is oriented vertically to simulate underwater diving, and your character is a diver! You are a marine researcher looking to find and observe a range of aquatic life in the colorful "Sunlight Zone," the ghostly "Twilight Zone," and the dark "Midnight Zone" of the seas and oceans worldwide.
In Finspan, the fish you discover over 4 weeks will generate a series of benefits as you dive deeper into the ocean.
Each dive site specializes in a key aspect of developing your research:
- Increase your fish collection.
- Discover freshly laid eggs.
- Hatch eggs and feed the young in schools.
The winner is the player who has accumulated the most points through fish, eggs, young, schools, and achievements.
