Buttons & Bugs is a solo game, with an original campaign written by Isaac Childres, offering a gameplay style similar to Gloomhaven, but in a much more compact format.
Each scenario is played on a single map, pitting a mercenary against a handful of enemies with simplified actions and AI. Your character is one of these aspiring heroes. In a misguided attempt to become famous, they try to visit Hail, and Poof. They must find a new way to enter the Crooked Bone to convince Hail to return them to their original size.
