Oath is a one to six player strategy legacy board game in which players influence the course of history in an ancient world.
The consequences of one game will carry over into subsequent games, changing the resources and actions available to future players and even altering the game's main victory condition.
If a player takes control by favoring anarchy and betrayal, other players will have to deal with a country overrun by thieves and petty warlords. In a later game, a warlord might attempt to found a dynasty, creating a line of rulers that could last for generations or be crushed by the rise of a terrifying arcane cult.
